FAMOUS BECAUSE UNKNOWN

HELLO GIRLS AND GUYS.

Famous because unknown? Do you know who is he? JACK THE RIPPER! He is the most famous serial killer. Yet he committed "only" five murders. There is many mysterious aspects in Jack's "career", but the true reason of his notoriety is that he never has been unmasked.

The Jack the Ripper murders occurred in the East End of London in 1888 and although the Whitechapel Murderer was only a threat to a very small section of the community in a relatively small part of London, the murders had a huge impact on society as a whole. Between August and November 1888,the Whitechapel area of London was the scene of five brutal murders. The killer was dubbed 'Jack the Ripper'. All the women murdered were prostitutes. The first murder, of Mary Ann Nicholls, took place on 31 August. Annie Chapman was killed on 8 September. Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddoweson were murdered 30 September and Mary Jane Kelly on 9 November.

There has been much speculation as to the identity of the killer. It has been suggested that he or she was a doctor or butcher, based on the evidence of weapons and the mutilations that occurred, which showed a knowledge of human anatomy. Many theories have been put forward suggesting individuals who might be responsible. As many as 170 people have been named over the years as suspects in the Jack the Ripper case. One theory links the murders with Queen Victoria's grandson, Prince Albert Victor, also known as the Duke of Clarence, although the evidence for this is insubstantial. Some conspiracy theories suggest that the entire royal family or the Freemasons were behind the killings. Some have proven controversial, such as the "Jill the Ripper" scenario of Jack as a woman and at the time of the Ripper murders minorities were made the scapegoat for many situations. There were thousands of immigrant Jews that lived in the east end of London and were suspect to the rest of the population. Jews were neither liked or trusted, which is why there was a lot of 'finger pointing' when Scotland Yard failed to capture the Ripper.

Suspects

From Hell letter from Jack the Ripper

In my opinion, this history is really adventure and interesting. I keep wondering why after five crimes in only two months, did the killer stop at once? No one never could explain it. Only Jack the Ripper could explained. Fortunately, the mystery is so fascinating because I can do my own reading, draw my own conclusions with some critical thinking. The only hypothesis that I got from my background reading is that he died. This oblige to admit a coincidence: this death just after the beginning of his gruesome work, neither before nor long after it. More than that, this makes all the more mysterious that he couldn't have been identified.
